Round 1 - Brands Hatch

Well it was great to be back at Brands even though the weather was c**p!

In free practice I had some problems with the front end bottoming out so for qualifying we tried stiffer springs but it went the other way and I had a hell of a time keeping my line round the corners. So, it was back to plan A, but for the second qualifying it p***ed down. I was really pleased with my times though and thought I had done well enough to put me about 16th on the grid.

When I found out I was 31st I couldn't believe it! It was very frustrating to see slower guys than me further up the field but all my team said "you will just have to overtake more than you thought".

I didnt get a particularly good start and it took a few laps for everything to settle down before I could start moving up. The race was great, I felt really confident and finally finished 17th.

I want to thank all the members of the STP team for a great weekend but a big thanks to my pit crew, Stewy Nico and Alex, fantastic job guys.

Thanks to my brother Grant as well for coming to watch me as he had to fly to China early monday morning where he is learning martial arts for 12 months. I hope to come and see you soon bro, good luck.

I am hoping that for Donington someone gets it right for deciding the qualifying positions but whatever happens, I shall be doing my best to get in the points
