Cadwell Park BSB 26-28 August 2006

I turned up at Cadwell on saturday afternoon with Grant, Victor's brother who had just come back from China, and the atmosphere in the STP camp was great. There was a really good buzz going around.

Steve and Kev, the 2 STP mechanics, had been working hard on the bike's set up and Victor had a confidence and determination about that seemed to have been missing for a while.

Qualifying went well and the weather was kind, Victor got 17th on the grid but due to Coates' unfortunate accident the Vicar moved up to 16th, 4th row.

The race started and Victor had a great start, by the start of the second lap he had moved to 11th place but going into Charlies, while taking the two riders in front of him, he tipped in a fraction too early. His front wheel caught a narrow strip of grass and the front wheel went from under him!

OK, a DNF, but the whole team was on a high because they could all see that the VICAR IS BACK!

He has shown to himself that he can run with the best and in the words of the Vicar, roll on sunday, roll on Silverstone!
