British National Superstock Championship rider
Croft BSB 11-13 August 2006
Not the best of weekends weather wise or racing. Victor had already done his 1st qualifying before I arrived on saturday and we had a very odd day ahead of us, 2nd qulifying followed by "warm up"!
Victor improved his time by just over a second but that only moved him up one place on the grid to 19th and in the last few minutes he managed to out break himself and headed straight for the tyre wall on the grass run off. Only one option, lay the bike down.
Unfortunately it hit the tyres head on!
Steve King, Victor's mechanic for the weekend was a bloody marvel, he got the second bike ready for warm up but we think by then the Vicar forgot why he was there, in the last lap he decided to take a detour through a cornfield, still cant work out the attraction.
The next few hours saw Steve working flat out to get the no.1 bike ready for sunday before going off to enjoy the evening delights of Croft circuit.
Where shall I start? Ok, it rained, it was windy and it was cold, the only bar is an outside catering van and there is no cafe, hhhhm not much to excite anyone there.
Now to sunday morning and no change in the weather. The Superstock boys had a long wait for their race, last one of the day again! 5.15 and the race starts, Victor had one of his worst starts for a long time and never really pulled it back together, finishing 21st. A weekend to put behind him and look forward to the next round at Cadwell Park
Victor would to thank Steve King and Stewy Rogers for all their efforts over the 3 days and thanks to John Strike of STP Racing for turning up and supporting him.
Vicar would also like to say sorry for his disappoint performance. He is determined to put on a better show for everyone at Cadwell.
Thank for all your support RIDE SAFE!! ROLL ON SUNDAYS THE VICAR 28#
