Castle Combe Fowlers Superbike Grand National 28/29 July
This was a big weekend for me, after braking my wrist at Oulton Park in May. This was my first race back on board the MV Agusta.
The weekend started a little hard trying to get the bike handling well around the fast but bumpy Castle Combe circuit. In the first race I had a really poor start dropping back into about 10th in the first corner but managed to climb back up the field to then get pipped on the last lap.
This then put me second on the grid for the main race, with some major tweaks to the suspension and changing the gearing and a set of new tyres it was back to the grid. Again having another poor start dropping back down the field I managed to make the places back up and just as I hit front after a couple of laps the safety car came out then with the safety car goinG in and the race was back on.
I then managed go on and win the race which meant so much to me as I really wanted to do it in memory of my good friend Ollie. Ollie was a great friend and had a big impact on my life. I will miss you mate!
